Do you drive through a tunnel and think “I wonder what dust extraction system they used for this?”

Clearly not everyone does, but you might, in fact you might know what systems they’re using on Crossrail, or planning to use on HS2 when it gets going.

That kind of knowledge is worth something, particularly to a company which is looking to expand its European presence and market share in dust and fume solutions.

In return for your knowledge, and a fair bit of hard graft, they will pay you up to €80,000 a year and give you a bonus based on your sales, resulting in a big and realistic OTE.

Ultimately they will need you to travel across the region quite a bit, but this will only come into effect once restrictions are lifted and business is relatively back to normal.

In terms of the expectations on you, during the first 6 months of the role your main task will be to map out the projects and clients you are going to target, develop your strategy and all being well do a bit of networking through your contacts.

There is a large set of potential clients based in France, so if you can speak fluent French this would be helpful, but it is by no means a dealbreaker.

You will be given the tools to make this happen, access to the market research and tender tools that you need, a marketing department to help create engaging content that starts conversations.

Full training on their products and solutions is a given, but we’ll still mention it.

Requirements

What do they need from you?

For starters, they’ll need to see your sales figures and performance against targets for the last few years. These years will have been spent working in the civil infrastructure world, if it’s involved tunnelling or even mining that would stand you in good stead.

Your typical client base will have been OEMs or Tier 1 Project Stakeholders, so no doubt you’ll have a good set of contacts to get started with providing you’re not under a restrictive covenant.
