A permanent opportunity has arisen for a Lead Safety Loss Engineer to work for a Paris based EPC company specializing on gas and LNG projects worldwide.

Due to activity growth, our client is currently recruiting for several permanent positions in Paris. This opportunity is the chance for a lead engineer to take a step further in their career and manage the Company HSE department.

About this role

You will be involved in feasibility studies, conceptual, detailed design activities for Gas/LNG installation projects. Mainly based in Paris, you will be required to travel 2 or 3 times per year in France and abroad.

You will:

- perform Fire protection studies- Fire and gas detection studies
- Hazardous areas classification/ATEX- Potection studies against Cryogenic leaks
- General installation and implementation plan reviews- Risk Analysis (FERA, QRA...)
- HSE reviews (HAZID/HAZOP/SIL) and conducting the reviews- Write general and detail specifications for firefighting and safety equipment, technical alignment and supplier follow up
- be responsible for major HSE technical decisions for allocated projects. - Apply company conceptual philosophies and procedures
- Take part in 3D model reviews, determine 3D model compliance with HSE technical requirements.- Write technical specification for subcontractors- Supervise subcontracted activities
- Be responsible for quality, cost and planning for HSE activities- Provide projects' feedback and take part in development/improvement of tools for the discipline

About you

- Masters' degree or PhD in industrial risk management or process engineering or chemical engineering- 10 years' experience minimum in oil & gas industry essential
- Experience in gas/LNG projects mandatory- Experience on construction site or operational is a plus
- Fluent written and spoken English, French is highly desirable but not essential. Spanish, Portuguese or Chinese are a plus- 2 or 3 short business trips in France or abroad
