About this role
This is a senior role for an individual with 10+ years’ experience in Oil and Gas procurement or RNG industries. In your first month you will be tackling procurement procedures and practices for the entire supply chain cycle for this company with plants in Minnesota, Indiana and other Midwest locations.
You will be an expert resource for the project teams and you’ll be engaging with stakeholders. You’ll help define business needs, support estimating efforts, and develop procurement strategies to meet both project schedule and budget requirements.
You’ll be developing a capital equipment sourcing strategy and implementing strategic sourcing processes. You’ll be managing concurrent projects and providing commercial support through project start-up, construction, and operations. You’ll be supporting Capital Cost Estimate development and seeking cost reductions, without compromising construction quality or safety principles.
You will be reviewing, negotiating, executing and managing contracts and purchase orders as they are scheduled. You’ll be issuing Request for Quotes and performing commercial bid evaluations yourself. You’ll be facilitating technical bid evaluations by the project team. You’ll grow your expertise in target commodities and apply your thorough understanding of demand / supply market dynamics to issue contracts and POs.
In addition to focusing on the detail, there’s big picture thinking required for the role. You’ll be seeking and soliciting alternative and innovative ideas to provide business solutions, challenging requirements and specifications to define competitive advantage.
You’ll need to analyze and critique complex pricing proposals. You’ll use your strong negotiation skills to deliver on business milestones on schedule. You’ll be a leader, managing multiple tasks and inspiring others to match your peak performance around key areas:
Compliance and regulation: ensuring proper signature authority; establishing h a filing system for all stages of the supply chain; maintaining and reporting a purchase order register.
Delivery: facilitating quality inspections; expediting delivery of vendor data, materials, and equipment to ensure schedule success; coordinating with key suppliers / plants and project team to ensure specification requirements are met.
Process: driving use of tools and techniques that align to standardized processes; establishing suppliers / partners to drive ongoing cost reductions; resolving procurement related problems while supporting continuous improvement in spend and demand processes.
There is some travel here (10-20% at plants in Minnesota, Indiana and other Midwest locations).
An Associate Degree or equivalent in supply chain management, industrial distribution or related field is required. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience working in Procurement roles in Oil and Gas or RNG industries
- Familiarity with Construction and Operations safety requirements
- Ability to deal with ambiguity
